Public Events Internship

Global Minnesota’s public and community programs address current international issues in a number of formats including breakfast and lunch meetings, evening receptions, seminars, symposia, roundtables, and discussion groups. Continuing programs include WorldQuest trivia competition, Global Conversations at the Hennepin County Library, networking socials with international visitors, ambassador receptions and luncheons, the annual Great Decisions conference and programs around our annual focus country.

Common Tasks

  • Materials preparation, registration, and follow-up events
  • Generating and distributing event publicity materials in office and at events
  • Event attendance tracking
  • Content research on topics related to events
  • Research and identify organizations that may be interested in participating or partnering with Global Minnesota for certain events
  • General clerical duties
  • Assist in maintenance of files

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of global current events
  • Experience planning or participating in trivia competitions
  • Attention to detail

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Previous clerical experience preferred
