The Role of Women in the Global Agenda

On Wednesday, March 8, the world will recognize International Women’s Day, an opportunity to celebrate the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. Yet, critical questions are being raised about the role of women in boardrooms, the halls of government, and rural communities around the world. For example, in terms of global agriculture, women produce half the world’s food, put in two-thirds of the world’s working hours, and yet make only 10 percent of the world’s income. Women are marching, organizing, and convening – looking for ways to continue to advance equality.

To mark International Women’s Day, join us for a discussion with leaders from politics, business, and civil society on The Role of Women in the Global Agenda.  Keynote remarks will be provided by CARE USA President and CEO Michelle Nunn.

This event is sponsored by Cargill and in partnership with CARE USA.
