Cine Colombia: Between Sea and Land
November 14, 2016 @ 5:00 pm CST/ $10
This event is sold out.
Help kick off our year-long celebration of Colombia with a pre-film reception featuring traditional Colombian music, dance and vocal performances, and a photography exhibit by Integración Cultural Colombiana en Minnesota. Enjoy an array of traditional Colombian fare from Cafe Racer Kitchen and connect with members of the Colombian community and others interested in learning more about Colombian culture.
Following the reception, join us for a screening of Sundance award-winning Colombian film “Between Sea and Land,” presented by the Film Society of Minneapolis St. Paul as part of their Cine Latino Film Festival, taking place November 11-17. A breathtaking tour de force from actor and writer Manolo Cruz, the film, set on a small inlet adjacent to the Caribbean Sea in Colombia, tells the moving story of 28-year-old Alberto and his mother Rosa. A screening of “Between Sea and Land” will take place after the reception at the Film Society’s St. Anthony Main Theatre.
Tickets to the film are not included with reception registration.
See below for reception registration. Registration includes Colombian hors d’oeuvres and nonalcoholic beverages. Cash bar available. Event vouchers accepted.
Presented in partnership with the Film Society of Minneapolis St. Paul.
